The posters
Are these really hand-drawn? Yes. Every illustration is painted by hand on an iPad, with real painted textures — the wobbly lines, the brush marks, all of it. No templates, no clip art, no AI generators. Ever.
What paper do you print on? 200-gsm premium matte paper. Thick enough to feel substantial, matte enough that there's no glare from the window. Made to outlast childhood.
Do posters come framed? No — prints are sold unframed and arrive rolled in a protective tube. Frames in our photos are there to show scale.
Will the colours look exactly like on screen? Very close, but not identical. Every screen shows colour slightly differently, and printed ink behaves differently from backlit pixels. Our prints run slightly warmer and softer than they appear on a bright screen.
Ordering and shipping
Where do you ship? Worldwide.
How long will it take? Each poster is printed on demand once you order. Production takes 2 working days, and delivery takes a further 3-6 days depending on where you are.
How much is shipping? Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the size of your order.
Will I have to pay customs or import duties? We print at the facility closest to you, so most orders never cross a border. If yours does, any duties are set by your country and are the customer's responsibility.
Can I track my order? Yes — you'll get a tracking link by email as soon as it ships.
Can I change my address after ordering? Write to us straight away at hello@why27lab.com. If it hasn't gone to print yet, we can usually change it.
Returns and problems
My poster arrived damaged. Send us a photo within 7 days at hello@why27lab.com and we'll reprint it free. You don't need to send anything back.
Can I return it if I change my mind?
If you're in the EU, you have 14 days from delivery to withdraw from your order. The poster must come back unused and in its original tube, and return shipping is paid by you. Write to us first and we'll tell you where to send it.
Outside the EU we don't accept returns or exchanges for change of mind.
I ordered the wrong size.
Inside the EU, the 14-day withdrawal above applies. Outside the EU, we can't offer a refund or exchange — please check our size guide before ordering. The paper-on-the-wall trick in it takes two minutes and saves most mistakes.
Can I return a custom commission?
No. Because commissions are drawn to your specification, they can't be returned or refunded once you've approved the sketch and it goes to print. That's exactly why we always send the sketch first and keep making changes until you're happy with it.
Custom commissions
Can you draw something that isn't in the shop? Yes. Tell us the child's name and whatever they're obsessed with this month, and we'll draw it. Commissions start at €38.
Will I see it before it's printed? Always. You'll get a sketch and can ask for changes. Nothing goes to print until you're happy.
Is my commission unique? Yes. It never goes into the shop and never gets sold to anyone else.
Looking after your poster
How should I hang it? A frame is the safest option and protects the paper. If you'd rather go frameless, washi tape or wooden poster hangers work well and won't damage the print.
Will it fade? Keep it out of direct sunlight and it'll hold its colour for years. Direct sun fades any print, however good the paper.
How will my poster arrive?
Smaller sizes are shipped flat in a rigid board envelope. Larger sizes travel rolled in a protective tube — if yours arrives with a slight curl, lay it flat under a few books overnight and it'll settle.
